When setting up a habitat for your leopard gecko, the first step is to choose an enclosure that is appropriately sized based on the size of your gecko. Line the bottom with bedding materials like kitchen paper, A4 paper, corrugated cardboard, or kraft paper.
Next, add a hiding spot to make your gecko feel secure. The humidity in the enclosure should be maintained between 50% and 60%. Place a food dish to prevent food from escaping and a water dish to ensure hydration.
One essential addition to your leopard gecko’s habitat is a temperature-controlled heating pad. Position the heating pad beneath the hiding spot, ensuring it covers about half of the enclosure. This setup will create a heat zone and a cooler area for your gecko to choose from. For optimal temperature control, we recommend using XHC’s reptile heating pads, which are UL certified, IP67 waterproof, feature a temperature control function, and include a dual-display screen to help maintain a comfortable environment for your pet.
Finally, add food—sprinkle a 2:1 ratio of vitamin and calcium powder onto it. Fill the water dish with water, and your leopard gecko will be all set to enjoy its new home.
